And for Realty One Group’s Nicole Malesic, Washington County has been home her entire life. “I was born and raised here and know the area inside and out,” she said. “And with more than 12 years of experience in real estate, I’ve come to know the surrounding counties as well. I’ll go anywhere for my buyers and sellers—Washington, Green, Fayette, Westmoreland, Allegheny—you name it, I’ll go there.” In her career, Malesic has also had a hand in every type of deal imaginable, from acting as a relocation specialist for clients moving into and out of the state, to managing investment property deals for clients looking to become landlords or seeking investment opportunities. “I’ve helped people downsizing or retiring and I’ve done some commercial deals for a few investors as well,” she added. “But I love my first-time homebuyers. They bring me the most joy because of all the excitement they have about buying their first home. It’s not just a transaction for them; it’s starting a new life and it’s wonderful to be a part of that.” While only joining Realty One Group earlier this year, Malesic is on track to become a multimillion dollar producer for 2018. A graduate of West Virginia University with a business management degree, she works alone for her clients and says her family is all the team she needs. “My daughter helps with my marketing and my husband helps with my showings and marketing as well,” she said. “When I was 9 months pregnant and couldn’t drive, he was there taxiing me to showings for my clients.” Her second family is Realty One Group, which she joined in February after 11 years with another major real estate firm. According to Malesic, the benefits that Realty One Group offers her clients were worth the move. “They have an amazing platform. Their technology is a priority for them and they give all of their Realtors the training they need and support necessary,” she explained. “There’s also a great enthusiasm here and I just couldn’t pass it up. It was a great opportunity, and I’m so glad I changed when I did.” That technology and support gives Malesic an advantage in a competitive market like Washington County, which she feels is still riding the wave of oil and gas industry workers moving into the region. “We have a hard time keeping listings on the market for more than a week because they move so fast,” she said. “Rental properties for investors have been great because there are a lot of people willing to turn them around. That also means rent prices are still high in Washington County, but it works out for those looking to put down roots. A lot of the oil and gas people who moved here thought it was going to be a temporary situation, but it’s now a full-time oil and gas industry that’s pretty steady and increasing.” Regardless of your reason for buying or selling, Malesic’s positive attitude, love of the job and experience can alleviate much of the stress. “It can be really tough. It can be difficult, but I try to make everything as smooth as possible for my clients,” she said. “I bear all the stress and make sure they’re happy so they can focus on their journey ahead.” For more information on Nicole Malesic, find her at realtyonegroup. com.
