Your Local Library Matters
Parking : Our entrances , located at Murdock Street and North Jefferson Avenue , are open . Our parking lot is behind the library and accessible from Murdock Street .
This summer , beat the heat at Frank Sarris Public Library with our engaging and entertaining programs and events . Please note that our library will be following summer hours from June 29 – August 31 : Monday – Friday , 10:00 a . m . – 6:00 p . m . Saturday , 10:00 a . m . – 3:00 p . m .
We are excited to announce our new programs : Kids Movie Afternoon Matinee , Bon Appetite ! Cake Pops , and Let ’ s Draw .
Join the library on select Friday afternoons for classic movies that are fun for the whole family with the Kids Movie Afternoon Matinee . You are welcome to bring your snack and water . The matinee starts at 1:00 p . m . on July 12 , July 26 , and August 2 .
If your tween is interested in making delicious snacks , look no further than our Bon Appetite ! Cake Pops course . Each participant will make six basic cake pops to take home . Registration at our circulation desk is required , and each class has a limit of 10 participants . This program will start at 1:00 p . m . on July 11 , July 25 , and August 8 .
For Let ’ s Draw , participants ages 16 and up are welcome to the library for an evening of still-life drawing . We will provide paper and drawing tools , but you can bring your own . All skill levels are welcome , but due to limited spacing , registration is required at the circulation desk . Let ’ s Draw will meet every fourth Wednesday from 4:30-5:45 p . m . starting Wednesday , June 26 .
Library patrons of all ages are invited to support Frank Sarris Public Library by participating in our Summer Reading Challenge until Friday , August 9 . Any physical item ( including books , DVDs , video games , Launchpads , and Playaways ) checked out at Frank Sarris Public Library will allow participants to win fantastic prizes . Please register for free at our circulation desk . If you don ’ t have a WAGGIN library card , our staff can help you sign up for one .
If you are going away this summer for a vacation , you can take our library with you anytime , anywhere . Download your favorite e-book , audiobook , magazine , and more on your device through our digital resources , Libby and Hoopla . Libby and Hoopla are free applications available through your personal device ’ s app store . Our library also offers books on CDs , Playaways , or Launchpads to travelers of all ages . Playaways are lightweight and easy-to-use audiobooks . They run on a battery ; you can listen using earbuds or a speaker with an auxiliary cord . Launchpads are tablets that are pre-loaded with games and activities .
They do not require an Internet connection to work . These items are available in our Children , Young Adult , and Adult collections .

Kids Movie Afternoon Matinee – 1:00 p . m . on July 12 , July 26 , and August 2 Join us for some fun on Friday afternoons . These classic movies are suitable for ages 6 +. Bring your snack and water . Parents must remain in the library for the duration of the event .
Bon Appetite ! Cake Pops – 1:00 p . m . on July 11 , July 25 , and August 8 Cake Pops are the most delightful little treats ! Each participant will make six basic cake pops to take home . This program is for those between the ages of 10 and 14 . There will be a limit of 10 participants for each class , so register at the circulation desk early to avoid disappointment .
Summer Reading – Our Summer Reading Challenge is now open for registration ! Participants with a valid WAGGIN library account can register for this program at our circulation desk . Any physical item ( including books , DVDs , video games , Launchpads , and Playaways ) checked out at Frank Sarris Public Library will allow participants to win fantastic prizes . The Summer Reading Challenge will end on Friday , August 9 . We will also host our Summer Wrap-Up Party at North Strabane Park on this date .
Let ’ s Draw – Meets every fourth Wednesday from 4:30 – 5:45 p . m . starting Wednesday , June 26 Have you ever wanted to practice drawing but had too many distractions ? Have you tried sketching but don ’ t know where to start ? Join us at the library for an evening of still-life drawing . The library will provide paper and drawing tools , but you can bring your own . This program is for ages 16 and up . All skill levels are welcome , but seats are limited . Register at the circulation desk .
