Helping Buyers and
Sellers Navigate the
Ever-Changing Real
Estate Market
H
oward Hanna’s Wendy Grandel has put down a lifetime
of roots in Washington County. A single mom since the
unexpected death of her husband Scot, she has raised
her two children, Morgan and Evan, to adulthood. Grandel has
embraced the community and the remarkable changes and
growth that occurred within the county. Serving buyers and sellers
throughout Washington County, her experience has been well-
received. Local knowledge of the area really makes a difference, as
things change daily. Selling your home is a unique process. It is not a
cookie-cutter business.
Aside from Grandel’s local experience, her attention to clients is
what most people point to that makes her stand out. “Every buyer
and seller is unique. I love
working with empty nesters
who are downsizing and I love
working with first time
homebuyers as well,” she said.
“The two really go hand in
hand, making two very
different types of clients
realize their very different
dreams is an amazing reward
for me.”
Grandel’s been a licensed
Realtor for over 10 years and
continues to expand her real
estate knowledge, earning
certifications and
— Robert & Audrey designations to help her
Serenka better serve her clients.
“Providing the best service
to my clients motivates me to continuously expand my skills,” she
explained. Grandel is a Certified New Home Specialist (CNHS), Seller
Representative Specialist (SRS), Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES),
Master Certified Negotiation Specialist (MCNE), and more. The
various designations allow her to better relate to the unique
challenges various demographics may face in the real estate market.
“Each client has unique needs, and staying on the cutting edge of
industry trends is essential when helping people with the largest
investment they make in their lives,” Grandel said. “So being able to
provide professional photography, and knowing how to market a
home—not just with the Multi-List, but through social media

marketing, targeted ads and more—those are things I bring to the
table. That’s what I try to do for my clients every day.”
Giving back to the community is important to Grandel, so she
supports Howard Hanna’s Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Free Care
Fund campaign. The past four years Grandel has served as a
chairperson for the annual “Chow Chow” fundraiser. During her tenure,
over $40,000 was raised for the charity by her office alone.
