LEADERSHIP AWARD
RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED
The Washington County Chamber of
Commerce announced that Dr. Sally Mounts,
Director of Development at the City Mission,
is the 2017 Washington County ATHENA
Leadership Award Recipient. The 2017
ATHENA Award was presented during a
luncheon on May 12 attended by over 300
business and community leaders.
The ATHENA Award is an internationally
recognized award
that honors women’s
leadership within the
business and civic
communities.

and the Washington County Chamber
of Commerce announced that the 2017
Washington County ATHENA Young
Professional Leadership Award went to
Stephanie Wagoner, Manager of Marketing and
Community Relations for Washington Health
System. The inaugural award honors emerging
leaders who demonstrate excellence, creativity
and initiative in their business or profession.
The recipients provide valuable services by
contributing time and energy to improve the
quality of life for others in the community,
and, most importantly, serve as role models for
young women personally and professionally.

MMR HOSTS GRAND OPENING FOR CECIL
BRANCH OFFICE
On May 4, MMR opened its 19th U.S. branch office in Cecil Township with a host of
local and regional leaders.
As the largest privately owned electrical contractor in the oil/gas industry, MMR’s
new facility will be a local hub serving the needs of Pennsylvania.

DOLLAR GENERAL
RELOCATES TO NEW STORE
IN WASHINGTON
Dollar General held a grand opening for its
newly relocated store at 710 Jefferson Avenue
on April 22.
Customers enjoyed special deals and free
prizes at the event, the first 50 adult shoppers
received a $10 Dollar General gift card and the
first 200 shoppers received a Dollar General
tote bag with complimentary product samples
among other giveaways.
The new location features a fresh layout,
designed to make shopping easier and simpler
for customers. Some of the store’s new features
include seasonal products featured in the center
of the store, easily recognizable departments
with visible signage, and coolers that are more
conveniently located at the front of the store.
Dollar General also is deeply involved in the
communities it serves and is an ardent
supporter of literacy and education. At the cash
register of every Dollar General store,
customers interested in learning how to read,
speak English or get their General Education
Diploma (GED) can pick up a brochure with a
postage-paid reply card that can be mailed in for
referral to a local organization that offers free
literacy services. Since its inception in 1993, the
Dollar General Literacy Foundation has
awarded more than $127 million in grants to
nonprofit organizations, helping more than 7.9
million individuals take their first steps toward
