You can pay your monthly sewer bill on line at NSTMA customer portal nstma . authoritypay . com . You can check your balance , make a payment , see your consumption history and much more ! Check it out ! Remember , you need your full account number and CID number to create an account . These numbers can be found on your sewer bill . Credit card payments and e-checks are administered through our thirdparty vendor , NCR Corporation . You will be redirected to their site to make the payment .
SEWER RATES
The North Strabane Township Municipal Authority ( NSTMA ) did not raise sewer rates in 2024 the cost remains at ($ 5.60 per 1,000 gallons ). Canonsburg Houston Joint Authority ( CHJA ) increased their rates for the treatment of sewage ($ 11.26 per 1,000 gallons ), effective with the March billing .
Did you know you can reduce or eliminate the ($ 2.50 ) monthly Service Fee ? If you sign up for ebill , you reduce the fee to $ 1.25 , if you sign up for ACH it reduces the fee to $ 1.25 and if you sign up for both ebill and ACH , you can eliminate the monthly fee all together ! YOUR SEWER BILL
With the summer months approaching , keep in mind that the amount you pay for sewer service in North Strabane Township is based on the amount of water you use in your home or business . The more water you use , the higher your sewer bill will be .
Here are a few suggestions to conserve water and save money on your water and sewer bills :
• Turn off the faucet while brushing your teeth .
• Only run the washing machine and dishwasher when you have a full load .
• Use a low flow shower head and faucet aerators .

• Fix leaks in faucets or toilets .
• Install a dual flush or low flow toilet or put a conversion kit on your existing toilet .
• Install a rain barrel for outdoor watering . For those of you who use water outside of your homes or businesses for such things as swimming pools , gardens or sprinkler systems we strongly suggest you give our office a call to discuss installing a deduct meter .
SYSTEM MAINTENANCE
The NSTMA field crew members and contract engineers are often out and about in the township for various sewer maintenance and survey activities . Since sewer lines run through streets and yards , you may see them in your area on occasion . Though we always try to knock on doors and inform residents why we are in the area , this might not always be possible .
