A Message From Peggy Tseng , Executive Director

Building Strong and Vibrant Communities –

Your Local Library Matters

Parking : Our entrances , located at Murdock Street and North Jefferson Avenue , are open . Our parking lot is behind the library and accessible from Murdock Street .
We are springing into action thanks
Peggy Tseng , Executive Director to a recent grant we received . Frank Sarris Public Library has been
selected as one of 310 libraries nationwide to participate in round two of Libraries Transforming Communities : Accessible Small and Rural Communities , an American Library Association ( ALA ) initiative that provides community engagement and accessibility resources to small and rural libraries to help them better serve people with disabilities . This competitive award comes with a $ 10,000 grant to help the library create a memory care project for those diagnosed with dementia experiencing mild to medium symptoms and their caregivers . As part of the grant , Frank Sarris Public Library staff will take an online course on leading conversations , a skill vital to library work today . Staff will then host a discussion with the communities about dementia and the available resources that the grant provides . The grant funds will create year-round themed memory care kits filled with books , games , and crafts . If you are interested in getting involved or taking part in the conversation , please get in touch with Peggy Tseng at 724.745.1308 or ptseng @ franksarrislibrary . org , or visitfranksarrislibrary . org for more information .
