A Message From Peggy Tseng , Library Director
At Frank Sarris Public Library , our library staff is already diving into this year ’ s Summer Reading Program . The theme for 2022 is Oceans of Possibilities with a focus on the wonders and mysteries of the world ’ s oceans . As you prepare for your summer plans , do not forget to include Frank Sarris Public Library ! Families can register their kids for our ever-popular Summer Quest Camp starting on Monday , April 11th . Our Summer Quest Camp runs from July 11th to August 12th . This camp is open to children in Grades K-4 ( children must have finished Kindergarten , First , Second , Third , or Fourth Grade ). As a reminder , enrollment is limited for each week due to space and staff . Cost is $ 15 per child per week . We are also hosting a Summer Kickoff event in June to celebrate the start of the Summer Reading Program .
Our staff strives to add the latest books , DVDs , Playaways , Launchpads , and online resources to our collections for patrons to enjoy . As part of this ongoing mission , we are excited to announce the launch of Wonderbooks , a new addition to our children ’ s collection as well as Hoopla , our latest online resource .
From Findaway , the makers of our popular Playaway and Launchpad collections , Wonderbook contains a pre-loaded audiobook player permanently attached to the inside of a hardcover book . Children can enjoy story time anytime , anywhere . The Wonderbook catalog includes a wide range of picture books , leveled readers , early chapter books , Spanish language and non-fiction titles . There ’ s something for every child to discover and enjoy . Our Wonderbook collection is located on the first floor outside of our children ’ s library .
Hoopla is a one-stop shop for your streaming digital media needs . Collections included in this platform are Comics , Music , TV Series , Movies , Audiobooks , and eBooks in all genres and age groups . Each patron has the opportunity to borrow 10 items per month . All checked items automatically return themselves , so there are never any late fees . Ask our circulation desk staff or locate Hoopla ( as well as our other online applications ) under Resources at franksarrislibrary . org . Register today and finally see what all the “ Hoopla ” is about .

• Our drop box for returned items has moved . It is now located on Murdock Street . Look out for the bright blue book depository .
• Patrons can browse our Adult , Children and Young Adult collections on the first floor . Patrons can also use our computers as well as copy and fax documents . For our prices regarding services like printing and faxing , please visit our website .
• Computers and study rooms are first-come , first-served . Computers are limited to one hour per patron . Study rooms are limited to one person per room .

Allegheny Land Trust Environmental Program – This free program run by Julie Travaglini of Allegheny Land Trust will focus on environmental topics . April ’ s presentation topic is on native plants – 1st Floor , Athena Sarris Programming Room . Tuesday , 4 / 12 , 4:30-6:30 p . m .

Bedtime Stories – A virtual story time for all ! Snuggle up with your little ones as we sing songs , learn lullabies and listen to stories that focus on the bedtime ritual . Ages : 1-5 .
