Students Win Big at
Scholastic Competition

anon-McMillan art students were recognized for their
creative accomplishments at the recent Scholastic Art and
Writing Competition of Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Baylee Smith, a senior, received a Gold Key—the highest level
of achievement on the regional level—for her painting titled
“Slice of Life.”
Other Gold Key winners were Allison Greenawald, a junior, for
her drawing titled “Self-Portrait with Plants,” and Emma Traynor,
a junior, for her drawing titled “Girl in the Bubble.”
Their Gold Key work was forwarded to New York for national
level adjudication. National winners will be announced in March.

• Hannah Chop, junior, for her painting, “Fruit.”
• Hannah Chop, junior, for her photography piece, “Subway.”
• Allison Greenawald, junior, for her painting, “I Just Really Like
the Lion King.”
