When it comes to physical therapy, experience matters. And if you’ re serious about getting the most out of your rehabilitation and back on the road to recovery, then Crossroads Physical Therapy is where you want to be. Owned and operated by licensed physical therapist Kevin Perris, who has been practicing for more than 17 years, Crossroads Physical Therapy is the culmination of his experience and philosophy in the field. They had their Grand Opening in February 2018.

“ I used to have a clinic in West Virginia, but wanted to be closer to home,” Perris said.“ I’ ve lived in Canonsburg for the last nine years with my wife and three daughters, and helping those in my community is important to me.”
Perris’ clinic is a 2,100-square-foot facility with a 1,000-square-foot gym for patients and caters to patients of every age group.
“ We are an outpatient sports rehabilitation clinic and more,” Perris said.“ My motto is‘ Believe. Commit. Achieve.,’ and I instill that into all of my patients. I see all types of patients. From the weekend warrior who injured their knee squatting in the gym to the crossfire guru who strained their back. I see a lot of post surgical patients as well. From a post-op knee scope for a torn meniscus to a repaired bicep or tricep.” But pain doesn’ t discriminate and Crossroads Physical Therapy is also equipped and happy to help Medicare patients as well. They specialize in ASTYM, McKenzie Method for necks and backs as well as performing a Selective Functional Movement Assessment( SFMA). This assessment determines ones limitations and what exactly is causing their pain.
“ The three biggest things people don’ t know about physical therapy is that: 1. You don’ t need a physician referral to come to therapy, 2. It is not just for post-operative care, 3. It is not just for people after an
injury,” Perris said.“ If you’ re having pain or weakness or something just isn’ t working correctly, you can come to a physical therapist and they can assess your problem and offer a solution. A lot of people don’ t know these three things, and they suffer needlessly because of it.”
Crossroads Physical Therapy accepts most major insurance, so no matter what your coverage, you can get the help you need. And, if you’ re just curious about various topics, Perris also holds free workshops in his clinic where people can learn about common ailments that physical therapy can help, like plantar fasciitis, lower back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, etc. Perris, who’ s undergone numerous surgeries himself, including five knee surgeries, knows how to rehabilitate the body and said that exercise is key.
“ I’ ve always exercised patients because seventy-five percent of physical therapy is corrective exercise and the other 25 percent is hands on treatment,” he said.“ I got into physical therapy because I wanted to help people achieve THEIR goals and not what someone told them they couldn’ t achieve. It is all about what the patients goals are and I am just here to help them achieve that and I love what I do.”
Within the Canonsburg community, Perris, whose wife, Niki, is a Certified Financial Planner and a board member of Court Appointed Special Advocate( CASA) for children, is a staunch supporter of the cause, donating 100 percent of his grand opening profits to the organization.
