A warm fall greeting to our dear friends , We cannot wait to announce our family-friendly fall programming at Frank Sarris Public Library !
Our weekly children ’ s programming for toddlers and preschoolers returned on Wednesday , Sept . 4 . Favorites like Wiggles & Giggles , Toddler Tales , and School Readiness StoryPlay are included . For Wiggles & Giggles , children will be encouraged to move and learn with songs . In Toddler Tales , toddlers will explore diverse themes through activities and stories . With School Readiness StoryPlay , children will have fun as they develop essential skills for school , such as listening during stories , early literacy skills , and following directions . All of these programs are free to the public , and registration is not required .
Our staff is also eagerly planning our Halloween Spooktacular on Saturday evening , Oct . 26 . This walkthrough event encourages families to dress in their best costumes and come for spooks , frights , and candy . Admission will be free , and registration is not required . Our staff is finalizing plans for this event , so check our website and social media for additional information .
Learning always continues at our library , and two fantastic examples of this are Ancestry . com and Universal Class . Ancestry . com allows users free access to discover their ancestors by searching through census , marriage , immigration , death , birth , and military records . Please note that Ancestry . com may only be accessed using the public computers within the library . Universal Class has more than 600 online courses that are taught by real teachers in a variety of subjects . Access to these free continuing education courses is at your fingertips anytime by going through our library website , franksarrislibrary . org .

Jane McCullough is our dedicated children ’ s librarian . She organizes our library ’ s children ’ s programming . Having wrapped up our Summer Reading Camp , she ’ s gearing up for our popular weekly children ’ s programs , including Wiggles & Giggles , Little Picassos , and Jr . Engineers , starting in September .
Tyler Gump , our business manager , oversees the circulation of our library and purchases items for our adult book collections . He is always on the lookout for a great book recommendation . If you have a book or series to recommend , stop by our Circulation Desk .
Elizabeth Minutello is our administrative assistant . While some of her responsibilities take her behind the scenes , she can often be found at the Circulation Desk . She is also responsible for handling interlibrary loans ( ILLs ), items requested from a library outside of the WAGGIN system . If you ever need an item that you cannot find in WAGGIN , Elizabeth may be able to assist you .
Adam Russell , our library operations manager , maintains our volunteer program for teens and adults . Adam encourages anyone interested in becoming a library volunteer to stop by the Circulation Desk for a volunteer application form . Adam is also in charge of our Used Book Sale and diligently works to maintain a rotating collection of sellable items , including gently used adult and children ’ s books and DVDs .
