A Message From Peggy Tseng , Library Director
One of the most frequently asked questions our staff receives from new patrons is , “ What can I do with my WAGGIN library card ?” The answer is , “ A lot !” Using a WAGGIN library card provides access to the physical resources ( ex . books , DVDs , audiobooks , etc .) of all public libraries in Washington , Fayette , and Greene counties .
At Frank Sarris Public Library , patrons also have access to our free online resources including Hoopla , Universal Class , and Libby . Hoopla is a one-stop shop for your streaming digital media needs . Collections included in this platform are Comics , Music , TV Series , Movies , Audiobooks , and eBooks in all genres and age groups . Universal Class offers more than 600 online community courses taught by real teachers . With Libby , patrons can access eBooks , audiobooks , magazines , and more with their computer or personal device .
So why wait another minute to check out these free resources ? September is Library Card Sign-up Month . A WAGGIN library card is free to any person living in Washington , Fayette or Greene counties . To obtain a library card , you must complete the Patron Registration Form that is available at our circulation desk and present a valid driver ’ s license or other form of photo identification . Starting with their enrollment in kindergarten , children are eligible for a library card with parental signature and identification .
Even if you do not have a library card , patrons can still participate in our programming . One of our most popular events , Trivia Night , is scheduled for Saturday , Sept . 24 . Put your team ’ s collective knowledge to the test and win a fantastic prize ( as well as bragging rights ). Teams can have four to six participants . The cost is $ 5.00 per person . Registration for this event is open now . Registration form and payment are due by Wednesday , Sept . 21 . Check our website , franksarrislibrary . org , or our Facebook page for more information .
For more information about these events and our other resources , please check our website , franksarrislibrary . org , as well as our Frank Sarris Public Library Facebook page . You can also call 724.745.1308 , ext . 1 , if you have any questions or concerns .
