“The Brentwood
Landmarks in
Charcoal and Ink”
is now available.
In anticipation of the 100th Centennial Anniversary of
Brentwood Borough in 2015, the Brentwood Historical Society,
in an effort to inform the residents of this upcoming celebration,
presents the “Brentwood Landmarks in Charcoal and Ink 2014
Calendar” for the mere cost of $5.00. This calendar with its
outstanding features of many hand drawings by local Brentwood
artists illustrates the many original landmark properties, past
and present, during the 100 years of the Borough. For additional
information regarding the Historical Society and Centennial
Committee, please contact Audrey at 412.885.5378. The
calendars are available for sale at the Brentwood Library and
benefit the Brentwood Historical Society. More to come...

Brentwood Borough Police
Newsletter
Hello, I hope everyone’s 2013 has been a great year. The
Brentwood Council recently hired two new officers to the
Police Department. Carl Rech and Farrell Wagner will begin
as probationary police officers starting on November 4th,
2013. After completing a brief orientation period, they will be
assigned to a departmental training officer for several months
before being assigned to a permanent work shift. Both
officers have held part-time positions at various other police
departments and come to Brentwood with extensive training
and experience.
In addition to the newly hired officers, the entire police
department has completed their yearly mandatory training
assignments. In order to maintain their police officer
certifications with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,
all officers must qualify with the various types of firearms
that are employed by the police department. Annually, it
is mandatory that the officers attend and pass a certified
first aid and CPR class conducted by our own EMS service;
44 Brentwood-Baldwin-Whitehall
in addition, the officers are required to attend and complete
several days of classroom work that is conducted at the
Allegheny County Police Training Academy.
As an FYI, I want to caution all residents to lock all vehicles
that are parked in driveways and on the Borough streets.
Several communities, including Brentwood, are experiencing
a rash of thefts from vehicles left unsecured. In addition,
remove or conceal all valuable items that can be seen by
someone passing by. Be vigilant and report any suspicious
individual looking into or trying vehicle door handles by
dialing 911.
In the spirit of the Holiday Season and on behalf of the
Brentwood Police Department I wish you a Happy Holiday
and safe New Year!
Sincerely, Chief Robert D. Butelli
