AHN Jefferson Hospital Breast Center has always provided state-of-the art breast care and imaging . We ’ re proud to announce that in 2024 , we ’ re expanding our capabilities to make it easier and more convenient for you to access our high level of care . This will include tripling the number of mammography machines and doubling our ultrasound machines .
“ Increasing our capacity will allow us to shorten your wait times , and give you more flexibility to conveniently schedule your breast exams ,” said Sarah Thomas , DO , AHN Breast Radiologist . “ We also work closely with our breast surgeons when patients require additional testing and surgical care .”
All of which will add up to enhanced care , faster diagnoses , and better outcomes for our patients . After renovation , the AHN Jefferson Hospital Breast Center will be the comprehensive breast center you can count on for convenient care nearby .

Sarah Thomas , DO , is an AHN Breast Radiologist who fell in love with breast care as a medical student .
“ Breast imaging is a unique field of radiology . We get both patient interaction as well as diagnostic imaging and procedures ,” she said . “ We ’ re able to treat the whole patient beyond just their images .”
As for her approach to patient care , she says , “ Getting a mammogram is an incredibly sensitive examination and an area of stress for many patients . I strive to make the experience as pleasant as possible .”
Prior to becoming AHN Division Director of Breast Imaging , Dr . Thomas was the imaging institute director of diversity , equity and inclusion ( DE & I ). “ In that role , I had a strong emphasis on implementing procedures to promote an inclusive environment and make sure all patients and staff are welcomed and treated with respect .”
