CITY BRIEFLY OF MCKEESPORT BRENTWOOD NEWS
We would like to extend our warm wishes for a Happy Holiday to the residents of Brentwood .
Our dedicated workers down at the Public Works building have all worked long hours for snow removal before , and this year will be no different if it ’ s one of our snowy Pittsburgh winters ! The crews respond on a 24 / 7 schedule , so Pat Cunningham , Sean Frey , Pat Fuhrer , Mark Consolmagno , Sean Britenbaugh , Mike Folino , Shawn Robinson , Nick Czerwien , and Matthew Veatch will plow and salt the roads , or ( forecast pending ) possibly plow only . We will shovel steps and then “ push back ” the snow to the curb for ease of parking and to prepare for potential fresh snow . Every year we strive to make our streets passable in the cold wintery months , but as always we ask our residents to help so that we can keep the roads clear and safe . We would like to remind residents not to throw snow onto the streets , as not only does this violate Brentwood ’ s ordinances , but it also undoes some of our hard work plowing and salting . Please also make sure to use off-street parking where possible , as while we try our hardest
64 BRENTWOOD-BALDWIN-WHITEHALL not to block people in or cause any vehicles to get stuck , this is much more difficult when we have to plow the snow off the road — and of course that snow has to go somewhere ! Please set garbage cans back a little further than normal so the snow from the plow doesn ’ t knock them over .
We have also been receiving multiple calls concerning streetlight outages in the Borough . While you may see our workers in the bucket truck putting up decorations on our light poles , our streetlights are actually installed and maintained by Duquesne Light rather than Public Works . While we can help report streetlight outages to Duquesne Light , as a resident you can also send a request for streetlight repair directly to Duquesne Light to let them know right away . You can go to www . duquesnelight . com , click on “ Outages and Safety ,” and click on “ Report an Outage .” By following their online form , you can send a request to service a streetlight directly to Duquesne Light , thereby expediting the process ! Once again , have a safe and happy holiday .
