Collaborative STEM experiences in fifth-grade math play a pivotal role in fostering essential skills and preparing students for a future defined by innovation and problemsolving . By working together on math-related STEM projects and activities , students grasp mathematical concepts more effectively and learn the value of teamwork , communication , and critical thinking . Students at J . E . Harrison Education Center have been engaging in collaborative STEM experiences that instill a lifelong love for math and science , while equipping them with the collaborative and analytical skills they will need in their academic and professional journeys .
BALDWIN HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT HONORED WITH INAUGURAL HISTORY STUDENT AWARD FROM WHITEHALL BOROUGH HISTORICAL SOCIETY
Our community has a rich history that informs our present . The Whitehall Borough Historical Society ( WBHS ) is committed to preserving and understanding our history and encouraging others to do the same . In order to encourage the youngest members of our community to explore history , the society has created the History Student Award . Kameron Locy , a Baldwin High School student , received the inaugural award at the Annual Historical Society meeting on October 12 , 2023 , at the Whitehall Borough Building . Locy was recommended for this honor by BHS history teacher Richard Deemer . “ Kameron excelled at her history classes and was always looking for more . It was her intense interest in history that won her the nomination ,” said Deemer .

FIRST RESPONDERS TEACH FIRE SAFETY
The Whitehall Fire Department visited Whitehall Elementary School during Fire Safety Week to discuss ways to stay safe in an emergency . Students gained important skills and also a deeper appreciation for the vital role our first responders play . We are grateful for our first-responders and the many ways they serve our community !
COLOR DAYS BRING A PRISM OF DELIGHT
This fall , the students and staff at McAnnulty Elementary School had a bright time celebrating color days . Each day throughout the week , students dress in a color of the rainbow and participate in learning activities themed around each color .
