BALDWIN HOLIDAY FESTIVAL 2023 !
Celebrate the holiday season at the annual Baldwin Holiday Festival , Friday , Dec . 8 , from 5 to 8 p . m . at the Baldwin Borough Building , located at 3344 Churchview Avenue .
There will be holiday caroling , pictures with Santa , games and crafts for children , the lighting of the Christmas tree , a basket raffle , and visits to the historic Log House , along with hot chocolate and cookies !
In the spirit of giving , attendees are asked to bring non-perishable food items or a monetary donation for the local food pantry . This event is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Baldwin . For more information , visit baldwinpakiwanis . org .
WHITEHALL BOROUGH HISTORICAL SOCIETY NEWS
The Whitehall Borough Historical Society is selling 2024 calendars with historical photos of Whitehall . The calendars are $ 5 and are available at the Whitehall Public Library on Borough Park Drive , Princess Bowling Lanes on Weyman Road in Caste Village , and Holly ’ s Hallmark Shop in Caste Village . These will make a great calendar for any office !
In October , the society presented its first History Student of the Year award to Kameron Locy , a senior at Baldwin High School . Kameron was chosen by the teachers of the history department at Baldwin High School . She was presented with a plaque engraved with her name , and two history books .
The historical society has regular meetings , with the next on Jan . 25 , which will feature Tom McMillan , author of “ Our Flag Was Still There .” He will be speaking about Fort McHenry , where Francis Scott Key penned our national anthem .
In April , the meeting will feature Todd DePastino , executive director of the Veterans Breakfast Club . He will be speaking about sabotage during World War II .
