Baldwin OpenGov Once passed, the details of the 2019 budget will be available online at our interactive financial reporting website: baldwinboroughpa.opengov.com The Borough strives to be transparent and accountable to the public for fiscal activities. OpenGov is a tool the Borough utilizes to make it easier for everyone to explore how taxpayer money is collected and spent. Not only does the site provide a detailed look at the budget, but it is also updated monthly to show how the Borough is performing. The visual aspect allows viewers to easily identify trends and major components of the Borough’s financial activities. In addition, a PDF version of the complete budget with written explanations will be available on the baldwinborough.org website. FINANCIAL TRANSPARENCY TOOL Recycling News IMPORTANT changes in the residential recycling program will begin starting January 1, 2019. It will be mandatory that glass will not be accepted as a recycled item. Glass has become less cost-effective to recycle and can jeopardize the quality of other clean recyclables. Additionally, contamination of items has become a serious problem which then increases costs in the recycling industry. Contamination occurs when food-soiled recyclables get released in the recycling trucks or recycling facilities and then contaminate the clean recyclables. These and other changes become mandatory beginning January 1, 2019. For a full update on recycling changes, including the 2019 calendar, please visit our website at www.baldwinborough.org in December. 78 BRENTWOOD-BALDWIN-WHITEHALL
