7TH GRADE ANNUAL FIELD TRIP rentwood Borough SCHOOL DISTRICT NEWS

On April 11, 2025, 7th grade students from Brentwood Middle School attended a field trip to tour PNC Park and Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall. The trip was organized by the 7th grade team of Mr. Tony Rogerio, Mrs. Stephanie Faust, Mr. Nick Caponi, Mrs. Maggie Davis and Mrs. Chantel Fry.
During this annual trip, the 7th grade students were treated to a behind the scenes tour of the home of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Students had the opportunity to stand where the pros stand when they visited both the home and visitors dugouts, the indoor batting cage for the Pirates players as well as the corridors and hallways between these facilities and the playing field. In addition to these areas utilized by the players, they toured the outfield commons area, the Club Level as well as the Press Box. Throughout the tour, guides from PNC Park explained to the students the history of both the facility itself, as well as the Pirates organization. Students learned about the history of the Pirates organization and about players that have made an impact on the Club throughout the years. Throughout the
20 BRENTWOOD-BALDWIN-WHITEHALL tour, students had the opportunity to view memorabilia and artifacts from the Pirates as well as learn about the players who have had statues erected in their honor and memory. The players who have been honored with statues are Pirates greats Honus Wagner, Roberto Clemente, Willie Stargell and Bill Mazeroski. At the conclusion of the tour, the students had the opportunity to eat lunch in one of the several World Series Suites on the Club Level.
After completing the tour at PNC Park, students were bused to Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall on the University of Pittsburgh campus, where they explored exhibits and artifacts from wars throughout our nation’ s history. They learned the powerful stories of local men and women who served and sacrificed for America and even had the chance to handle primary source artifacts. As they moved through the grand auditorium and stood beneath the awe-inspiring memorials, students took time to reflect on the sacrifices made by generations of veterans. We extend our sincere thanks to the Pittsburgh Pirates and Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall for their generous hospitality!
