BRENTWOOD FIRECRACKER 5K!
This is the 42nd year of this Brentwood tradition, which attracts more than 2,000 runners! This year’ s event will be held on Friday, July 4, at 9 a. m. at the Brentwood Towne Center. It’ s a great event for serious athletes as well as families, with a special registration for ages 11 and under. Besides being a fun event, proceeds from the race will help rotating charities, including Special Olympics, the American Diabetes Association, the Salvation Army and several others. Since 2007, the Brentwood Library, Food Pantry, Fire Department, Emergency Medical Services and Drop the Puck on Cancer have also benefited.

WHITEHALL GREEN THUMBERS 50TH YEAR!
been providing education on gardening, promoting horticulture, and encouraging conservation of our natural resources in our area for five decades!
The garden club offers monthly speakers on a variety of interesting topics and sponsors community events, and awards a $ 2,000 scholarship to a Baldwin High School senior each year. Its volunteers also actively engage in maintaining the plantings outside the Whitehall Library.

WHITEHALL BOROUGH HISTORICAL SOCIETY EVENTS present a program on the French and Indian War in our area.
Then on Oct. 23, popular presenter Tom McMillan will return to speak on his new book,“ 1776: The Year That Made America.”
