MANAGER ’ S MESSAGE
The summer is finally upon us ! It is strange to look out at the pool and not see the sunshine glimmering off of the water or hear laughter and conversation going on poolside . Although it is disappointing to have the pool closed this summer , it is for very good reason . Construction will soon be underway ! The aging mechanical system is getting a much needed upgrade . The rough concrete pool bottom is getting a fresh liner , a serious water leak is being repaired , and the entry to the pool is being upgraded to allow for ADA accessibility . Fun water features are being added including new slides , sprinklers and a new diving board . Our plan is to reopen on time next summer but we will do our best to keep residents informed if there are any unforeseen delays caused by difficulty acquiring materials or equipment . aldwin BALDWIN BOROUGH NEWS

Electric Vehicle ( EV ) charging stations are coming to the Baldwin Borough Building ! We have secured a grant from Duquesne Light to pay for a portion of the installation of 3 Electric Vehicle ( EV ) charging stations with 6 charging ports total , four of which will be available to the public . These stations were operational at the end of May . The stations are 7.2 kW Level 2 Charging Stations with J1772 connection ports . We have also applied for a grant from the State to pay for portions of the cost of two new EV ’ s that will be utilized by Baldwin Code Enforcement and the Municipal Services Manager during the work day and will be charged as needed at night at the new station . The System we have purchased is ChargePoint . The public can utilize and pay for the charging through ChargePoint ’ s app . The Borough can monitor the usage and also see statistics of how we are improving our carbon footprint .
The new trash carts were delivered in mid March and have been in use for several weeks now . With all change , there is a learning curve period and I hope that everyone is feeling more comfortable with the new guidelines from WM . We encourage you to check out the Solid Waste and Recycling section of the Borough ’ s website : www . baldwinborough . org if you have questions . Social media is a breeding ground for misinformation , so we ask that you send questions to us directly or call the Borough office 412-882-9600 so that you receive the correct information .
I hope that you find some time to visit one of the Borough parks or a summer event like the Farmer ’ s Market ! Be safe and have an enjoyable Summer !
