Normal Story and Music Times for Little Ones Will Continue Throughout the Summer
SUMMER READING HAS BEGUN!
“ Build a Better World” is the theme for this year and that’ s certainly what we aim to do this summer by providing readers of all ages an opportunity to grow and broaden their world. Because we all know that building a better world begins with YOU!
The Family Summer Reading Kick-Off will be held on Sunday, June 11 from 1-3 p. m. Featuring a light dinner, old fashioned games such as sack races, pie eating contests, a duck pond, and more! Registration is required for this event.
EVENTS ESPECIALLY FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL KIDS
This summer there are some really great things happening here!! Be sure to mark your calendar.
Thursday, June 2, 3:30-4:30 p. m. MAD SCIENCE,“ Building Cleaner Oceans.” Grades 1-5. Almost three-quarters of the surface of our world is covered with oceans! Learn about the life can be found in the oceans. Explore ways to keep the oceans clean and healthy.
Science in the Summer is back June 26- 29th for children going into grades 2-6. There will be one session this summer for children in grades 2-6. The theme will be the“ Science of Sport”. Space is limited and children are asked to attend all four days. Registration will begin on Monday, June 5th at 10 a. m.
Thursday, July 13, 6:30-7:30 p. m. MAD SCIENCE,“ Building Bridges.” Grades 1-5.
Bridges connect people and places. Learn about the different types of bridges that can be found around the area. Construct a self-supporting arch bridge using ideas developed by Leonardo da Vinci!

Tuesday, July 17, 6:30-7:30 p. m. Animals that Build – Ages 2 +: Children of all ages will enjoy this engaging presentation by our friend Verna McGinley. Children will touch and hold animals like snakes, turtles and more!
Friday July 28, Late Night at the Library— Maker Night, 7-9 p. m. Grades 2-5. The library will be closed but not for you! We will keep you busy building a robot, a musical instrument and MORE! All of your creations as yours to take with you at the end of the night.
Y on the Fly – Ages 3 +: August 1st, 1-2 p. m. The YMCA will bring a truck full of fun ways to eat healthily and exercise well.

Friday, June 23, 1-4 p. m., You Can Make It – This is an event you do not want to miss because you will get to take home all the awesome things you make – bracelets, tiedyed items and more! You’ ll get the whole afternoon to get creative and make, make, make!
Friday, June 30, 6-9 p. m., Rock and Roll: A Scavenger Hunt & Games Party Rocks and games. Sound intriguing doesn’ t it? Come and find out what this night is all about!
Friday, July 14, 2-3 p. m., Mind Games Join us for snacks and brain food too! Test your IQ with tangrams, building challenges, puzzles and MORE!
