SUMMER IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER
SUMMER IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER
And the kids will be getting out of school soon. Speaking of School …
You should be receiving your School District Real Estate tax bills( blue bill) the first or second week of July. If you do not get a bill by July 20, please call me at 412.882.5383 x1129 or email me( fboland @ donnelly-boland. com) and leave your name, your email address, the address of the property, and the address where you would like the bill to be mailed. I will email all bills unless otherwise instructed to mail them.
Remember the Borough Bill can only be paid in one payment which by this time you should have received and paid that bill( yellow bill), if not you should do so quickly. The School Bill( blue bill) can be paid in three equal installments. Therefore, when you receive that bill it will have three parts in case you would like to utilize the installment program.
In order for you to obtain a receipt through the mail, taxpayers need to submit the original bill with a self-addressed stamped envelope, and I will mail your receipt back to you.
My address is 3730 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15227 for the mailing of all real estate taxes. My office hours remain the same at the Brownsville Road location through the end of Oct. 31, 2017
TAXES
– Tuesdays from 9 a. m. to noon and Thursdays from noon to 3 p. m.
From the Office of Fay Boland, Tax Collector
Since I know that this is not convenient for all, I also have a secure mail slot for residents who would like to drop off their taxes after hours. The secure mail slot is to the left of the front door. Please do not attempt to use the drop box in the drive through, as it is no longer operational. During office hours we also have a drive through window for the convenience of residents.
This year the requirement from the School District and the Borough remains the same, and I must adhere to the Pennsylvania State Law. This law states that“ such settlement of duplicates must occur by January 15 for taxes.” Therefore, I will be closing out and sending the delinquent taxes to Jordan in January for the school district. If you have any questions, you may email me at fboland @ donnelly-boland. com or phone me at 412.882.5383 x1129.
As you may or may not be aware my duties are to bill and collect the current real estate taxes only. I do not set the amount of those taxes as this is a calculation of the assessed valuation( as set by Allegheny County) and the millage, which is set by the borough council and the school board respectively. rentwood

RETIREMENTS
At the end of 2016 Mary Lou Garase, after 31 years of service, retired from Brentwood Borough.
Your leaving marks the end of an era here at The Borough of Brentwood. I know we will all come to appreciate you even more when we try to fill the void that you have left in your 31 years here, you have been a mentor to all of us. You have taken this department to the leading edge of the industry, which is the kind of record any company should envy. Even more important though are the friendships you have developed over that time. We will all miss you very much.
At the end of 2016 John Vojtas also left us.
During the thirty years that you have worked at Brentwood Borough Police Department, we have often taken for granted your fine workmanship of everyday officer routines. Congratulations on a job well done and a retirement well deserved.
