Brentwood’s 4th of July Parade
The annual parade which dates to 1919 will step off on
Monday, July 4th. This year’s Grand Marshal is The Brentwood
Volunteer Fire Company, which is celebrating its 100th
Anniversary this year. We are excited to honor them for their
many years of dedicated service to our community.
The starting time of the parade is 10:00 a.m. immediately
following the conclusion of the 5-K Race. The parade route
begins at Sankey Avenue and travels along Brownsville Road to
Brentwood Towne Square (approximately 1.6 miles). The parade
is viewed by over 40,000 people along Brownsville Road.
Enjoy Spectacular Brentwood 4th of
July Fireworks
Following last year’s great Centennial Fireworks, the
committee is pleased to continue to have spectacular display
to conclude the holiday celebration. The fireworks, which will
be set off in the baseball field on Radisson Drive, will start at
approximately 9:30 PM and last for 30 minutes.
Brentwood 4th of July House
Decorating Contest
The 6th Annual House Decorating Contest will continue to
encourage Brentwood residents to deck their homes in patriotic
red, white and blue displays. See the entry form in this issue.
We Need Your Help
It takes a lot of hands to make the day a success. The
Brentwood 4th of July Committee plan and organize the
parade, fireworks and house decorating contest as well as
conduct fundraising efforts all year. Volunteers are always
needed and welcome. The Committee meets the first Monday of
each month at 7:00 in the Community Room at the Brentwood
Library.
Did you know it costs nearly $35,000
each year to put on the parade and
fireworks?
Putting on the parade, providing the fireworks and all of
the activities around the 4th of July festivities requires a lot of
planning, volunteers and money. The budget for the celebration
is approximately $35,000 – all of which must be raised by the
committee. Although we have exceptional support from the
Brentwood Borough police, public works, administration, EMS
and fire department, no tax dollars are used for the fireworks,
parade or other activities.
Fundraising includes a Night at the Races in February and the
sale of raffle tickets leading up to the 4th of July. In addition, a
generous contribution from the Firecracker 5K race, business
sponsorships, parade fees and resident contributions provide
the revenue for the activities.
The Brentwood 4th of July Committee is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization and all donations are tax deductible. Checks
can be made out to Brentwood 4th of July Committee and
mailed to:
Brentwood 4th of July Committee
3501 Brownsville Road,
Brentwood, PA 15227
Or drop it off in person at the Brentwood Borough Building or
Brentwood Library.
In addition, you can donate online through our GoFundMe
page. Just visit our Facebook page – Brentwood PA July 4th
Celebration – and click on the link to the page. Or go direct to:

Thank you for your support over the years and we hope you
will continue to support the Brentwood 4th of July Celebration
so our community will be able to celebrate our independence
each 4th of July well into the future.
We Really Need Parade Marshals
This year will require more parade marshals to organize the
parade as we no longer can use the “former Giant Eagle lot”
to stage a lot of our units. We will be using more residential
streets and need approximately 15 marshals to help line up our
participants. Are you willing to help? If you are willing to help,
contact Committee Chair John Frombach at 412-956-3940 or
[email protected].
