Story and Music Times for Little Ones
Musical Mondays – At 11 AM is for children age 2-5 Let’ s Learn( Kindergarten Readiness Program) – Tuesdays, 10:30 AM is for ages 3-5 Book Babies – Thursdays, 10 AM is for ages 0-18 mos Toddler Tales – Thursdays, 11 AM is for 18 mos-3 yrs.
Events Especially for Elementary School Kids
Thursdays are exciting days at the library! Lego Club Light – Thursdays( except the first Thursday of the month), 3:30- 4:30 PM— Grades K-5. Free building time with big bins of LEGO on the floor. No registration required. Kids Club – First Thursday of each month, 3:30-5 PM— Grades K-5. This time is designed to keep children moving, interacting, and engaged. Activities like crafts, cooking, science experiments, games, team challenges, music time, and more are sure to excite and engage them. No registration required and a snack is provided at the beginning of the program.
Something fun for Teens on Fridays
This summer offers great programs for teens. We will be planning special events throughout the summer— including a dance-a-thon!( Check out our website to find out exact dates.): Rec Room! – Every week we do not have a special event— the rec room will be open. Come play ping pong, pool, air hockey, foosball, and more! We open the doors at 2:45 PM.

Classics Book Club – 2nd Wed. of each month at 6 PM. Cook’ s Book Club – 4th Tues. of each month from 6:30 – 8:30 PM – discuss cookbooks and eat a shared meal. Mystery Book – Mystery / thriller book club that meets on a Tues. afternoon every six weeks Romance Book Club – will meet the 3rd Mon. of the month at 1 PM. Time Travelers Book Club – Fiction book club that meets on a Mon. evening every six weeks

Planning Has Begun for Summer Reading!
Save some room on your summer calendar for exciting events at Brentwood Library! This year’ s Summer Reading theme is” On Your Mark, Get Set, Read!” We plan on making it a“ medal winning” summer for children, teens and adults alike! There will lots more happening than what’ s listed below. Be sure to check out our website for a complete list of events and details.
The Family Summer Reading Kick-Off will be held on Friday, June 10th from
6:30 PM – 8:30 PM. Featuring a light dinner, old fashioned games such as sack races, pie eating contests, a duck pond, and more! Registration is required for this event. The Adult Summer Reading Kick-Off Tailgate Party will be held on Friday, June 17th from 6:30 – 8:30 PM. Registration is required for this event.
Science in the Summer is back June 20th – 23rd for children going into grades 2 – 6. There are two sessions- one for children in grades 2 – 4 at 1 PM and another for children in grades 4-6 at 2:30 PM. Space is limited and children are asked to attend all four days. Registration will begin on June 6th at 10 AM.
Calling all bakers! Sign up for our Pie Cook- Off on Wednesday, June 19th.
Pittsburgh Sports Author Jim O’ Brien will present“ Immaculate Reflections on Pittsburgh’ s Sports Scene” on Saturday, July 16th at 1 PM.
Interact with Amazing Animals on Tuesday, July 26th at 6:30 PM. Children of all ages will enjoy this engaging presentation by our friend Verna McGinley. Children will touch and hold animals like snakes, turtles, and more!
July 3rd at the Brentwood Library: The library will be open from 1 PM – 8:30 PM and we will have special activities outside the library from 6 PM – 8:30 PM including balloon animals, spray tattoos and a moon bounce. All activities are free!
Brentwood Library will be closed on the following dates: Summer Sundays from June 12th through August 14th. We’ re also closed July 4th, Sept 4th & 5th.
