Around Brentwood

“ I want to tell you that I will work hard for the residents of this Borough.”
With those words, Michael“ Mike” Foyle addressed a full Council Chambers Monday evening as he was officially sworn in as Brentwood Borough’ s 10th mayor, a moment marked by pride, history, and deep community roots.
Foyle, who was elected in November, took the oath of office surrounded by family, friends, colleagues, and longtime residents. The ceremony carried special significance as the oath was administered by Ronald Arnoni, who served as Brentwood’ s mayor from 1998 to 2001 and is now the honorable Magisterial District Judge.

“ It’ s an honor to be here and to be on that wall with you,” Arnoni said, referencing the wall of past mayors displayed in chambers. He also spoke of his personal connection to the community.“ My family has a history of over 100 years in Brentwood,” he said, before acknowledging the crowd gathered for the ceremony. cKeesport rentwood

Offering encouragement to the new mayor, Arnoni added,“ You are going to do a great job for Brentwood. We look to you to guide this ship for the next four years, hopefully longer. I’ m so proud to be a Brentwood-ite.”
Calling the moment“ my honor and privilege,” Arnoni administered the oath of office, officially welcoming Foyle into the role.
When Foyle spoke, his remarks centered on confidence, collaboration, and community.
“ I’ m confident in this council and push this community a bit more forward,” he said. Emphasizing that leadership is not a solo effort, Foyle added,“ We can’ t do this alone and we’ ve got family and friends and neighbors that are important to help each of us succeed in our duties here.”
He took time to recognize his“ lovely bride of 47 years,” noting that his children and grandchildren were also present for the ceremony. A reminder that public service is often supported quietly and faithfully by family.
A lifelong Brentwood resident who grew up in the Borough and graduated from Brentwood schools, Foyle begins his term working alongside Council, the Borough administration, the Police Department, and residents to serve the place he has always called home.
