Long-time Baldwin Police Officer Matthew Collier is retiring from our department in March. Ofc. Collier has served the residents of Baldwin since 2001. During that time, Officer Collier spent fifteen years as a firearms instructor and eleven years as an active shooter instructor. In addition, Ofc. Collier was an integral part of the SHACOG CIRT team as a tactical operator. In retirement, Ofc. Collier is planning to spend more time with his family and friends.
Congratulations, Ofc. Collier. We wish you nothing but the best in retirement …. you’ ve earned it!

Baldwin Borough recently welcomed our new Deputy Chief of Police, Rick Patrus. Deputy Chief Patrus was raised in Kennedy Township and graduated from Montour High School. He attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and the IUP Police Academy. He began his law enforcement career with Carnegie Borough and then moved to Mt. Lebanon a few years later. At Mt. Lebanon, Deputy Chief Patrus recently retired from his position after twenty-one years of service, as a Lieutenant. He is married to his high school sweetheart and together they have two daughters, one currently an undergrad student at West Virginia University and the other a graduate student at the University of Pittsburgh. When asked about his new position, Deputy Chief Patrus said,“ Baldwin Police have a great reputation and a great relationship with the community. I’ m excited to be a part of that”.
