WHAT’ S NEWS IN BRENTWOOD-BALDWIN-WHITEHALL
LILLY THE POODLE!
A new visitor has been seen around the Baldwin-Whitehall School District: Lilly, a beautiful, good-natured therapy dog, accompanied by her handler, Michelle Staude. They immediately brighten up the room when they arrive!
The duo will be visiting all the schools throughout the year. Marissa Gallagher, director of student services for the district, said that they have quickly become invaluable assets to the school district.
Lilly, who visits a variety of health care and education settings, provides a calming presence that helps reduce anxiety and stress for students, offering emotional support that assists the students in getting ready to learn.
Staude, who is also a registered nurse, is passionate about helping others and being Lilly’ s handler, quickly getting
certified in pet therapy as a natural extension of her love of people.
