GOT MILK ? AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE aldwin-Whitehall BALDWIN-WHITEHALL SCHOOL DISTRICT NEWS
Kindergarten students at McAnnulty Elementary School are excited to be participating in the Adopt-a- Calf program through Discovery Dairy . Participating classrooms adopt a newborn calf from Zahncroft Dairy in Womelsdorf , PA . The classrooms received birth certificates , pictures , and detailed information about what the first few months of their calf ' s life is like . As the year goes on , classrooms are able to access updates about their calf as well as send letters to the farmers charged with their care .
STUDENTS BRING HOLIDAY CHEER TO OVERLOOK GREEN
The children in Ms . McPaul ’ s first-grade class at Whitehall Elementary prepared for the holidays by filling stockings for the residents of Overlook Green . These little elves filled 50 stockings with sweets , toiletries , a homemade ornament , and a Christmas card . The children personally delivered the stockings to the residents and sung seasonal songs for a festive evening enjoyed by all .

Mrs . Bonacorso ’ s fifth-grade class recently spent some time discussing gratitude . Questions were posed to help students reflect on the things in their lives that they are grateful to have . Students had to think a little deeper with each question , even identifying the silver lining in a difficult situation they have faced . Students created a ray of gratitude to share their personal reflections with their loved ones at home . This activity highlighted the positive things in the students ’ lives , leading to grateful hearts .
LEARNING FROM ONE ANOTHER
Students at R . A . Lutz Elementary had a special presentation by third-grader John and his mother . They came to the classroom to teach students how to play the Dreidel Game . They brought in dreidels for each child and explained the rules of the game . Students loved exploring this beloved game .
