SPECIAL EVENTS AT BRENTWOOD LIBRARY THIS SPRING: Friday, March 2nd @ 5:30 pm – Coding and Pizza Party for children in grades K-3. Come have dinner and then learn about the basics of computer coding with the help of WQED’s free Scratch Jr. software. Sunday, March 4th @ 7:30 pm – Oscars Party, join us to watch the Academy Awards, enjoy some fancy snacks, and make your guesses at the winners for a chance to win a prize. Thursday, March 8th @ 6:00 pm – Medicare Seminar, with Sara Leonatti leading a state approved presentation on the subject. Sunday, March 18th @ 1 pm – Tile Painting Program where you can come and try your hand at this art project with gentle guidance from our instructors. This is great for artists of any skill level, including beginners! Thursdays, March 22nd and 29 @ 2 pm – Cooking Class with Atria Senior Living featuring recipes and techniques for healthy and tasty dishes. Saturday, March 23rd @ 6 pm – Family Easter Party, with cookie decorating, an egg hunt, crafts, and more! Tuesday, April 3rd @ 9:30 am – Wise Walk Outdoors, where the group walks and talks two miles each week! This year each mile walked will generate a donation to a local charity, so you can exercise and help at the same time! Friday, April 6th @ 9 am – AARP Driver’s Safety Refresher Course 42 BRENTWOOD-BALDWIN-WHITEHALL Wednesday, May 9th @ 6:30 pm – Family Story Time featuring this year’s PA One Book, Every Young Child selection My Cousin Momo written and illustrated by Zachariah OHora. Join us for crafts, stories, songs, and more, plus every family gets a free copy of the book. Saturday, May 19th @ 1 pm – Create, Make & Take, an event for elementary aged children that is part of Remake Learning Days. Come make your own art bot, harmonica, and more, plus see if you’re up to coming up with creating solutions to our maker challenges. Friday, June 10th @ 5 pm – Summer Reading Kick Off Party, a blast for families with children of all ages and teens! We provide a light dinner and then play old- fashioned picnic games on the lawn. The evening will end in a super fun water balloon battle! LIBRARY BOOKSALE! The second Saturday of every month from 9 am – 2 pm. Great deals on gently used books! Can’t make it that day? Come in and shop any time we’re open! EXCITING REGULAR PROGRAMS FOR ALL AGES: For Adults: Join us every Monday-Thursday from 10 am to noon for complimentary coffee and tea and good conversation! Adult Coloring Hour – Every other Wednesday at 10:30 am – we have the coloring supplies, you bring your creativity and desire to relax. Bingo! – Come play for free! A light lunch is offered. Happening the 3rd Thursday of each month. Classic Movie – Most Tuesdays at 2 pm. Take a walk back in time! Crafters’ Circle – Mondays at 6 pm. Bring your project or come learn a new skill. Game Day – Every other Wednesday at 11 am. Brain games and social interaction in a party-like atmosphere.
