The 2017-2018 School Budget Timeline
On January 23, 2017 the School Board of Directors approved a motion that the school district will not raise property taxes by more than the adjusted index of 3.3 % for 2017-2018. This is just the beginning of the budget process for 2017-2018.
Over the month of March 2017, administrators will be meeting to finalize their budgets with the Business Manager and Superintendent. All areas of the budget will be analyzed before a proposed final budget is presented to the board in May.

Brentwood Bloom Room
By Mrs. Linda Capozzoli
Amanda Vickless, Bryanna Brown, Elyssa Maenz, and Derek Festa attended a SAP Social Innovation Series sponsored by Adventure Capital( AdCap) at PPG Paints Arena in the fall. The conference empowered students to improve health and wellness in their school by participating in a design workshop. Students had to pitch their wellness ideas to a panel of judges modeled after the show Shark Tank. The idea of the Brentwood Bloom Room was created and now the students are in charge of an initiative to educate others on nutrition and growing fruits, plants, vegetables, and herbs in the soon to be designed greenhouse. Ten projects were chosen across the nation to be eligible for an additional $ 10,000 and a trip to the Super Bowl in Texas. Brentwood Bloom Room was one of the ten projects in the running. The students were awarded a $ 1,000 grant to bring their project to life and the greenhouse area of the high school will be filled with a thriving garden.
