NEWSLETTER
We here hope that everyone is looking forward to spring. As the
temperatures rise and daylight hours increase so will everyone’s
activities outside. We pride ourselves as a walking community and
encourage everyone to enjoy what the Borough has to offer and
help us keep our community great.
Our primary goal is everyone's safety. With this in mind we
encourage everyone to help us and one another. It can be as little
as picking up a piece of rubbish and throwing it away so someone
does not trip on it and become injured. Or by calling 911 to report
a car that is too close to an intersection or limiting visibility. Or by
monitoring you and your child’s driving behavior as excitement
grows towards the approaching summer--remember you are your
child's role model. We are working on revising our current parking
ordinances with the Mayor's Office and the Zoning and Ordinance
Committee to promote the safety and aesthetics of the Borough.
As you walk about the Borough we encourage you to follow
these suggestions:
● Wear bright clothes to enhance visibility for motorists.
● Travel in a group whenever possible especially at night.
● Always carry a cell phone on you. Do not hesitate to
photograph or video record any suspicious activity.
● Whenever possible always cross at a marked crosswalk. If
you cannot find a crosswalk it is the pedestrian's
responsibility to ensure it is safe to cross.
● Always stick to main streets if possible. These streets are
usually the best lit streets which promote safety and usually
have sidewalks. If you often walk in the dark carry a flashlight.
● If you have a dog understand that it must be on a leash. If
you see another dog walker approaching and you know your
dog gets excited--please let the other dog pass or safely cross
to the other side of the street. Also please have a bag on
hand for any waste deposits. The bag can be discarded at one
of our many trash receptacles around the borough.
● If you see something that is unlawful or suspicious please call
911 at once or feel free to come to our station to report it to us.
● Please follow us on Facebook at the Brentwood Borough
Police Department or brentwoodboro.com to learn of the
most up to date information that affects you.
See you this spring,
