The UPS Store –
So Much More
Than Shipping
Few retail establishments are as customer service oriented as the
UPS Store, where every employee—from the manager on down—is
dedicated to ensuring that your business is taken care of in the most
efficient manner possible.
From 24/7 mailbox access, to copying and printing, to Notary
services, the Pleasant Hills UPS Store has grown to serve the needs of
its customers, and isn’t slowing down.
“We’re not the same store we were a year ago,” says franchise owner
Andy Coghe. “We’ve listened to our customers and we’re retooling in
real time to serve them better every single day.”
From the addition of a new manager to having two employees on
staff who are Notary Public certified, the changes at the Pleasant Hills
UPS Store have been all-encompassing.
“The success of the store is tethered to the team we have in place,”
Coghe said. “We added Jeanne Manfredi as the new store manager,
and that has yielded nothing but positive results for us. Our managers
work alongside our associates, talking to the customers and setting
the tone of the store. When you have true teamwork like that in place,
you have a team that is friendly, personable and happy. That translates
to an exceptional atmosphere for our customers, many of whom
are stressed about the task at hand and trying to meet their own
deadlines.”
Because the UPS Store is so much more than just shipping,
employees are constantly trained in how best to meet the demands of
the customers.
“As the technology gets more and more advanced, we have to make
sure that our staff is equipped to handle any printing job that comes
through the door,” Coghe said.
Perhaps the most convenient and utilized service the Pleasant Hills
UPS Store offers clients is its mailbox service, where customers have
around-the-clock access to a street address, not just a post office box.
“There are a lot of things that cannot be shipped to a PO box,”
Coghe said. “By having a mailbox with us, we can accept almost
anything. You can even have your UPS shipment routed to our store
for safekeeping, giving you the peace of mind that it will be there
when you decide to pick it up. You have a street address where all your
mail and parcel shipments can be shipped.”

Box owners are given an access key and can retrieve their packages

rental is charged by the month, with special incentives—such as three
months free—when rented by the year.
Of course, the UPS Store can always help you pack and ship even
the bulkiest of items and make sure that you’re paying the best rate
when it comes to getting your package where it needs to go.
It even offers discounts for AAA, AARP and GoodSam members.
