On Sept. 25, Brian Reedy, chief of interpretation at Fort Necessity, will present a program on the French and Indian War in our area.
Then on Oct. 23, popular presenter Tom McMillan will return to speak on his new book,“ 1776: The Year That Made America.”
Registration for these programs is hosted by the Whitehall Public Library. Registration begins on the first day of the month when the program will be held. You may register online at whitehallpubliclibrary. org. ■
The BBW Shade Tree Commission is searching for a Brentwood Borough resident to fill a vacancy on the commission. The Shade Tree Commission plants and tends trees in public areas as requested by the boroughs. Members also lend advice on treerelated issues.
Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older, a resident of the represented borough, and able to attend one Zoom meeting per month, held in the evening hours.

This is a special year for the Whitehall Green Thumbers Garden Club— it has been providing education on gardening, promoting horticulture, and encouraging conservation of our natural resources in the area for five decades!
The garden club offers monthly speakers on a variety of interesting topics, sponsors community events, and awards a $ 2,000 scholarship to a Baldwin High School senior each year. The members also actively engage in maintaining the plantings outside the Whitehall Library.
