Community Day was held on Saturday, June 14th at the Baldwin Municipal Building. The festivities began with the traditional Baldwin Mile kid’ s run. Approximately 30 kids, to age 14, ran a mile along Churchview Avenue to start the day of festivities. An award ceremony was held immediately after to distribute medals to the participants.
Community Day festivities kicked off at 4pm. The Baldwin Kiwanis Club sponsored a vendor show, which included specialty and unique handmade items from local vendors.
The Kid’ s Fun Zone included train rides, a bounce house, dunk tank courtesy of Hoff’ s All Season Supply, face painting, caricatures, a Chinese auction, make your own pinwheel craft, permanent jewelry, bubble blowing, sidewalk chalk and more!
South Hills pet rescue was in attendance with adorable puppies, all available for adoption. This was extremely successful last year, with all of the puppies
adopted to their forever homes. We are happy to report that several of the puppies were adopted again this year! For more details, check out their website southillspetrescue. org
The day also included an array of refreshments from Rollies Fried Spring Rolls, Frank & Fried, Vital Sips, Dave’ s SnoCones, Street Eatz Concession, T & R Sweet Concessions, The Boon Seek, Cindy’ s Munchies and Wigle Whiskey.
The Family Fun Center was in attendance, as well as Raising Cane’ s, the Democratic Committee, the Baldwin Borough Public Library, BCAP, the Baldwin High School Band, the Baldwin Education Foundation and the Historical Society which provided tours of the recently restored log cabin.
Rick Serafini Unplugged provided entertainment as well as a set by Paul Hayhurst and John Egger. Despite the rain, the fireworks display went on as planned and ended a great day of fun and community.
