BUILDING BONDS: MIDDLE AND ELEMENTARY BEST BUDDIES UNITE AT THE FRIENDSHIP WALK aldwin-Whitehall BALDWIN-WHITEHALL SCHOOL DISTRICT NEWS
On a beautiful and uplifting day, students from the J. E. Harrison Middle School and Whitehall Elementary School Best Buddies programs came together for a heartwarming event— a Best Buddies Friendship Walk. This special gathering was more than just a walk; it was a celebration of inclusion, kindness, and the power of friendship across BWSD schools.
Throughout the walk, students took part in face painting by HMS students, danced through a bubble machine, and enjoyed snacks and music that highlighted the positivity of the Best Buddies community. The HMS Best Buddies also served as role models, helping Whitehall Best Buddies participate in a mini Olympics. Elementary students brought their energy and creativity, reminding everyone of the importance of joy in inclusion. BWSD staff watched with pride as students demonstrated what Best Buddies is all about: breaking down barriers, celebrating differences, and creating lifelong friendships!
NEW SCOREBOARD COMING TO BALDWIN STADIUM
This year, Baldwin Stadium will be home to a new video scoreboard with expanded capability, including showing videos, livestreaming the game, instant replays, advertisements, and sponsorship messages. Anthony Cherico, Athletic Director, shared,“ I feel the board will enhance the game day experience, with a professional-level appearance. Team morale will be bolstered, as athletes can see videos of themselves in high definition. The board will also provide studentlearning opportunities, as we can integrate developing content for the board into the classroom setting. The possibilities are exciting and I can’ t wait to see what the board can do for our school community.”
