DAYSHAUN SPENCER WINS GOLD AT WPIAL AND PIAA TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Brentwood’ s Dayshaun Spencer had a record-setting 2025 season to close out his remarkable sophomore year. He became the 20th student in school history to win a Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League( WPIAL) and / or Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association( PIAA) individual championship.
Dayshaun captured gold in both the WPIAL and PIAA Class 2A Triple Jump by finishing first at the district and state track and field championships. He now holds the Brentwood High School record in the Triple Jump— a record he broke three times during the season. Additionally, he tied the school record in the Long Jump.
At the WPIAL Track and Field Championships, held at Slippery Rock University, Dayshaun won gold with a Triple Jump of 46 feet, 7.75 inches, surpassing his own previous school record. By winning the WPIAL title, he qualified for the PIAA State Track and Field Championships at Shippensburg
University, where he secured another gold medal with a jump of 45 feet, 5.75 inches.
Dayshaun’ s performances at both the WPIAL and PIAA Championships put an exclamation mark on a truly remarkable and historic season.
In addition to his excellence in the Triple Jump, Dayshaun also competes in the 100-Meter Sprint, Long Jump, and serves as the anchor of the 4x100 Meter Relay team. Outside of track and field, he is a standout athlete on the Brentwood Spartan football team, where he plays wide receiver and defensive back.
The entire Brentwood community is incredibly proud of Dayshaun’ s accomplishments. He was even honored and celebrated during the Brentwood 4th of July Parade. With two years remaining in his high school career, everyone— including Dayshaun himself— is looking forward to more records being broken and more championships being won.
