It was a busy summer in Baldwin Borough with Phase III of Elm Leaf Park renovations coming to completion . Improvements to the park began in 2017 with the revamping of the Elm Leaf Park pavilion , installation of new bathrooms , expanded parking , new horseshoe pits , and an updated playground area . The park pavilion has been rented to residents almost every weekend that it is available with positive feedback from those using the facility . We now have updated ballfields , a walking trail , and tot playscape with swings to add to the list of upgrades to the park , making Elm Leaf an asset to our community .
The 2022 Road Program is also underway . Pot hole patching and curb repair has been ongoing throughout the Borough since Spring . We are now in the process of resurfacing the following streets : Leona Dr . ( Ellen Dr . to Borough Border ) Frich Dr . ( Ellen Dr . to Borough Border ) Norma Dr . ( Charlotte Dr . to Judith Dr .) In an attempt to save the taxpayers money and maximize efficiency , we try our best to work with utility companies when planning our annual paving schedule . If a Borough roadway is on the schedule for utility work and eventual paving , it allows us to remove it from our paving list and add a street that may not have fit onto the schedule due to budget constraints . It has allowed us to improve more streets within the Municipality while staying within budget and lessening the disruption to residents .
Summer projects winding down means that back to school time is upon us . I wanted to wish all of the students of Baldwin-Whitehall School District a wonderful and safe school year . Please be mindful of school busses , crosswalks , and school zones while driving so we can keep our kids safe !
