Charger Care
When you receive your child ’ s devices they come with their names on the Chromebook , but the charger does not have any identifying information . Consider adding a return address label or use a sharpie to write your student ’ s name and homeroom .
Chargers go missing- almost as often as socks from the dryer . Try to keep them at home and in the same place . Pick one outlet and choose that as the area for charging , even place the bookbags there and charge the devices in the bags .
Avoid bringing the chargers into school . An overnight charge should be sufficient to keep the device running all day long .
Handling Chromebooks
Students may be used to carrying tablets or Nintendo DS around . Although the devices come with cases to keep them safe from most minor drops , care should be taken with them .
Never carry the device by the screen . This puts a lot of pressure on the screen -damage has occurred with this carrying method .
When opening the device , try to do so from the middle . Again , this evenly distributes the pressure on the device ’ s screen and can prevent damage from opening by the corners .
Keep the juice boxes and milks away from the devices at all costs ! No matter how quickly you dry off a Chromebook , even a little bit of milk and juice can do damage within seconds .
Check your child ’ s backpacks . Many backpacks include a laptop sleeve to transport devices . The sleeves are usually directly against the wearer ’ s back and have some extra padding to protect the devices on their journeys . If your child ’ s backpack has a laptop sleeve , put the Chromebook in the sleeve when coming to school .

General Tips
Purchase the insurance ! It may not cover every possible problem , but it can save you in the long run
Avoid letting others log into the students ’ devices . Only the student to whom the device is issued should be using that device . Along that same line , never share passwords . The Chromebooks have software installed that monitors student use both inside and outside of school .
If a device is damaged or broken , report it to the office right away . If there are pieces of the device , please send them to school in a bag labeled with the student ’ s name and homeroom teacher .
Finally , and perhaps most importantly , send the device into school every day . Teachers use the devices and their apps daily in classes starting in kindergarten .
Cafeteria News Online Payments Coming for the 2022-23 School Year By Melissa Fulmer
The Brentwood Borough School District is excited to announce a new option for parents / guardians to pay for technology , textbook , testing fees , and much more . The district has partnered with RevTrak , an online payment company , that works with Skyward , our student information system . One family ’ s set-up a RevTrak Account , you will be guided to make online payments ( via debit or credit card ) for various fees at Brentwood Borough School District . A guide will be available in the near future on the districts website as well as a date in which families may start accessing the portal .
Annual Notification Requirement of District Policies
There are multiple policies that require annual notification .
