BRENTWOOD MIDDLE-HIGH SCHOOL WELCOMES MR . TED ULMER
The Brentwood Borough School District is proud to welcome Mr . Ted Ulmer to our educational family as the Assistant Principal for Brentwood Middle-High School . Mr . Ulmer will be working with both the middle and high school programs and all of our students grades 6 through 12 . He was hired in February of 2022 and began working with the district in April .
Mr . Ulmer is a fourteen-year veteran in public education . He previously spent his career in the Clairton City School District . At Clairton , he served as a Social Studies instructor and was the Athletic Director . He has a keen knowledge and experience working with the same age range of children at his previous district . He also gained administrative experience working with the community , other schools within the WPIAL , and stakeholders as the Athletic Director . These attributes made him a natural fit for the Assistant Principal role at Brentwood .
Mr . Ulmer is a 2004 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh where he majored in History and Political Science . Originally , he had majored in education at West Virginia University . After undergrad , he decided to take his professional working career in a different direction and completed a four-year apprenticeship program with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America . never left , and he embarked on a new path earning a Master of Education degree at California University of Pennsylvania . He became a certified professional teacher in Social Studies 7-12 . Mr . Ulmer displayed qualities of leadership during his tenure at Clairton City Schools and soon he earned his Principal ’ s Certificate from Point Park University while enrolled in their Educational Leadership certificate program .
Mr . Ulmer is married to Danielle ( Barletto ) who is a native of Staten Island , New York . They have two beautiful children together , Zoë ( 14 ) and Aaron ( 12 ). Mr . Ulmer is active in his home community . He coaches baseball and is a member of the board of directors for Elizabeth Forward Youth Athletics organization .
Mr . Ulmer values the impact that can be made by working in community schools . The smaller size and ability to develop relationships with students and their families is a key component to helping students be successful . He values the personal relationships that can be formed through academic , athletic and activities programs that are offered in the Brentwood Borough School District . Immediately , Mr .
