Direct Physiotherapy – Get the One-on-One Physical Therapy That You Deserve

When Dr . Mason Tupta started Direct Physiotherapy , he wanted to address an important problem he saw in the field of physical therapy : patients being juggled around various staff and not getting meaningful help from any of them . “ One of the most common complaints you ’ ll hear about physical therapy is people don ’ t feel like they ’ re getting the care they deserve ,” Dr . Tupta said . “ They ’ re passed around and told to do various exercises without getting any in-depth training on them , or physical manipulation that they may need .”

At Direct Physiotherapy , Dr . Tupta is the only person you ’ ll see . A graduate of Duquesne University with a doctorate in Physical Therapy as well as bachelor ’ s degrees in health science and biology , Dr . Tupta furthers his education and expertise through continued studies in Manual Physical Therapy through the Maitland-Australian Physiotherapy Seminars , Spinal Mobilization through the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy , and Dry Needling through Myopain Seminars . His interest in physical therapy and sports medicine grew out of his athletic youth , when he played baseball and basketball .
“ I enjoyed baseball and basketball , and because of my love for the games , I also found myself getting a lot of physical therapy ,” he said . “ That piqued my interest in pursuing physical therapy as a vocation , helping other people achieve peak performance , avoid injury and work through any injuries they may have so they can get back to their lives as quickly as possible .”
Dr . Tupta ’ s patients include a lot of younger people recovering from common running injuries ; high school , collegiate , and professional athletes ; people in their 50s and 60s recovering from joint replacement surgeries ; and seniors looking to maintain conditioning in order to avoid atrophy or balance disorders as they age .
“ What I offer my patients is direct , hands-on physical therapy that they ’ re not going to find anywhere else ,” he explained . “ You see me every single visit along your path to recovery , and , while we ’ ll prescribe exercises when it ’ s appropriate , I will also perform manual therapy when it ’ s necessary . That ’ s the difference that makes all the difference .”
Dr . Tupta ’ s advanced training in manual physical therapy also allows him to perform spinal manipulation , and dry needling therapy when it ’ s applicable . His proactive approach to physical therapy also includes therapeutic exercise , massage therapy , preventive therapy , joint mobilizations , spinal mobilizations , post-operative therapy and balance training . His preventive services for athletes statistically decrease the risk of injury by facilitating proper training in the offseason . These services include ACL tear prevention , running analysis , throwing / pitching programs , and tendon strengthening .
