THINGS WERE SIZZLING AT THE 2ND “TAKING IT TO THE STREETS” IN BRENTWOOD From left to right former Brentwood High graduates Anna Murphy (1970) and Bill Murphy (1968) (who traveled all of the way from State College to attend the “Taken It To The Streets” event) share their table with Emily (mom) Zboyovsky, Matt Loftus, Marc B, Michelle Zboyovsky, Kenny and Constance Ventura. What better way to take a break from the summer heat than “Taking It To The Streets” for a Sizzling Summer Spectacular street festival. With food trucks and cold craft beer supplied from Spoonwood Brewing Co. and Mindful Brewing to add another option (and subsequent shorter wait). The 2nd event was held on a perfect clear evening on Saturday July 28th. In addition to the second beer option, the live sounds of Mark DeLuca and his cool guitar entertained the crowd. In between sets DJ Steve Maffei got the crowd pumped and at one point the crowd formed a giant conga line dancing through the streets. The final “Taken It To The Streets” event is scheduled for Saturday September 28th from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM and will be located on Brownsville Road at Townsquare. In addition to the fun, food, games, beer, and live music, the Brentwood Baldwin Whitehall Chamber of Commerce’s renowned Annual Chili Cookoff will also be held during this event. So come hungry and come thirsty and help us bring the summer to a wonderful end.
