IN Brentwood-Baldwin-Whitehall Fall 2018 | Page 53
LEAVES, LEAVES AND MORE LEAVES.
Well the summer is behind us and the colorful season of
fall is in our midst. As you know, warm temperatures begin to
drop and the colors of the leaves become more vibrant. It’s a
great time of the year to take a short drive and appreciate the
beautiful weather and scenery. The down side of this season
(no pun intended) is the multicolored leaves begin to fall from
the trees and cover the grassy areas and roadways, which
brings to mind the season of “Leaf Collection.” During this time
we ask the residents to rake the leaves on a weekly basis and
placed in brown biodegradable bags at curbside, after 5:00 P.M.,
prior to pick up day. Leaves, twigs, grass and other debris are
not to be placed near sewers or manholes. Thank you for your
cooperation and enjoy the fall season because old man winter is
right around the corner!
Leaf Collection in Brentwood will begin approximately
Monday October 22, 2018 and continue for six weeks through
Tuesday November 26, 2018. The biodegradable bags are
available for purchase at your local hardware store. Buy Local,

Looking for some
Warm Hearts to assist
this Cold Winter
A message from “Old Man Winter” get
your snow shovel out.
Winter brings inclement weather and the elderly
need assistance in keeping their property clear of snow
and ice. Therefore, this request is for young and old
healthy residents that are willing to shovel sidewalks,
walkways, driveways, etc., during the winter season.
With so many elderly residents in the Borough we are
asking that you contact the Borough Office if you are
willing to assist and shovel snow during the inclement
weather. Call 412-884-1500 Ext. 115 and leave your
name, address, email address and phone number and
we will place your name on a list. When a resident
calls for assistance we will provide them with your
contact information; it will be up to you to make any
further arrangements with the resident regarding fees,
etc. Students that need community service hours are
welcome to participate!
