HOMECOMING 2018 WAS ‘OUT OF THIS WORLD’ Four of the BPHS Majorettes gather on the field before the Pre-Game Show. H omecoming 2018 lived up to its theme as it was “Out of this World!” On Friday, September 14, the sun was shining and a rainbow appeared over the Stadium before the Parade, which featured new Bethel Park High School Associate Principal Mr. Villani as the Grand Marshall. Also participating in the Parade were the members of the Homecoming Court, the BPHS Dance Team, the Bethel Park High School Black Hawk Marching Band, the senior Cheerleaders, the Varsity and JV Cheerleading squads, Meet this year’s Homecoming Royalty (left to right): King Anthony Lucchitti, Queen Rosie Dailey, Princess Alexa Will and Prince Tiger Burkes. Bethel Park Junior Football Cheerleaders, a float built by the BPHS FCCLA, and trucks from the Bethel Park Fire Department. The Tailgate featured the Kona Ice Truck and activities from DECA and the Latin Club. Before the game, the Homecoming Awards were presented. Honored this year were Dave Caracci and MaryAnn Popp with the Service Award; Cortney Williams with the Faculty Award; and Mason Bussard and Rosie Dailey with the Spirit Award. At halftime, the Homecoming Court was introduced: Rosie Dailey, Patra Hsu, Jenna Peretin, Holly Troesch, Alexa Will, Tiger Burkes, Josh Karas, Anthony Lucchitti, Alex Mullen and Tim Nuss. This year’s Queen and King were Rosie Dailey and Anthony Lucchitti, while Tiger Burkes and Alexa Will were crowned the Prince and Princess. The Hawks did their part to help Friday night’s festivities end on a high note, by defeating Shaler 42-7. On Saturday, over 800 students attended the Homecoming Dance. Heavy rains pushed back the Powderpuff Football Game a week, but great weather was on hand on September 16 as the Senior Girls defeated the Junior Girls 60-6. Congratulations to this year’s Homecoming Co-Chairs Annette Barnhart and Lily Wilson and their Committee Co-Chairs for organizing a memorable Homecoming. The Bethel Park High School Marching Band entertains at halftime.
