SPONSORED CONTENT I BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT S ’ H C I R TIRE SERVICE n 1964, with a CB radio and one service truck, Richard Catanzaro started his own business, Rich’s Truck Tire Service. After a few years, he went on to purchase the land where his business stands today in Bethel Park. Rich worked hard to provide for his large family. His small business continued to grow, and eventually he had seven service trucks for his 24-hour road service. Road service back then was done all by hand, changing large truck tires on the road before there was the help of machinery. The industry changed over the years after tubeless radial truck tires were introduced. The tubeless radial tire made dismounting and mounting the tires much safer, allowing companies to look within for service instead of paying for roadside assistance, forever changing the way Rich did business. In 2001, Rich’s had a devastating fire; however, the surrounding businesses and loyal customers showed outstanding support in many ways as Rich rebuilt. He and the staff are still very thankful for the help that enabled the business to continue. In 2018, Rich’s Truck Tire Service is celebrating 50 years in business! Times have changed drastically and Rich’s business has always been improving and growing with the needs of customers. Once there were fewer roadside service SPONSORED CONTENT calls, Rich saw the need to offer light truck and car tires as well as mechanical service. He put an addition onto the building, for customers like yourself to wait for your vehicle to be serviced. Today, the shop offers all kinds of services, from car and truck tires, heavy machinery, and lawn and garden equipment, to mechanical repairs, oil changes, inspections and emissions. Rich began his dream as a roadside tire service and eventually became a full-service garage, thanks to the support of his always-loyal vendors and customers. Rich is now semi-retired (You can’t stop him from coming around!). He is passing his hard-earned business and legacy to his daughter Karen, who has been working with him, gaining increasing knowledge, for the past 26 years. She is always there to explain to the customers what they need and show them why. Rich is known for honest, old-fashioned hard work, and his daughter looks up to and takes after him. After 50 years, Rich’s family is still in Bethel to take care of you, your family and your business needs.
