After becoming empty nesters, the diner staff and patrons became like family. When the owner wanted to sell, they stepped in to preserve the unity of the staff and build on the wonderful foundation that was Jim & Lou Lou’s. Steve and Erica became owners in January. Community involvement is important to them, so they held a contest for the new name. Two patrons won, and Ma & Pop’s Country Kitchen was born. An enormous menu of comfort food favorites and daily specials allows patrons to satisfy their taste buds and keep coming back. “People love our Reubens, Rachels, wings, pizza, hot roast beef sandwiches and breakfasts,” says Steve. “Specials like Stuffed Cabbage, Stuffed Pork Chops, Tuna and Chicken Salad are outstanding and made from scratch. We’ve been told 18 724.942.0940 TO ADVERTISE ❘ icmags.com nobody does Prime Rib better, and that our hamburgers are outstanding.” If you haven’t stopped in yet, put it on your “to-do” list.
