CHURCH’S HOLIDAY A-FAIR
If you need new Christmas decorations or gifts for someone on
your shopping list, help is available at Bethel Presbyterian Church’s
Holiday A-Fair on Nov. 12.
Vendors will offer a variety of items from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is
no admission charge. A salad buffet also is available for $8 which will
include a signature chicken salad, a choice of two other salads, rolls,
beverage and a homemade dessert. Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m.
to 1 p.m. The cost for children is $3.
Tickets may be purchased for chances to win baskets filled with
food, or items associated with a specific interest. Some of the baskets
also contain certificates to stores or restaurants. Merchandise also
includes baked goods and handcrafted items made by church
members.
Parking is available at the side and rear of the church at 2999 Bethel
Church Road, and guides will be available to give directions.
Holiday A-Fair, which is sponsored by Bethel Presbyterian
Church Women’s Association, provides funds for the following
charities: South Hills Interfaith Movement, Family Promise, East
End Cooperative Ministries, the Shelter for Battered Women and
Presbyterian national and international disaster and relief work.

MURPHY VOTES TO IMPROVE
VETERANS’ CARE
Congressman Tim Murphy supported, and the House of
Representatives passed, three bills that would ensure emergency
treatment is available for all of our nation’s veterans and improve their
ability to receive high-quality care.
“We have an obligation to care for our brave servicemen and
women when they come home,” said Congressman Murphy.
“Working toward ensuring our veterans have access to high-quality
health care is a practical way to honor their service to our nation.”
THE BILLS ARE:
Vet Connect Act: Authorizes the Veterans Affairs (VA)
Department to disclose records of the identity, diagnosis, prognosis
or treatment of any VA patient to non-VA health care entities that
provide medical treatment to veterans, including private entities and
other federal agencies.
No Veterans Crisis Line Call Should Go Unanswered Act:
Requires the VA to issue a quality assurance document for the
