T he Bethel Park Education Foundation paid a visit to the March 26 Bethel Park Board of School Directors Meeting to share some exciting news! In the past year, the Foundation has awarded nine grants to projects that have benefitted Bethel Park schools and students. Several Foundation Board members and grant recipients were on-hand to pose with a large $8,040.06 check, which represents the combined value of all nine grants. The Bethel Park School District is grateful for the work that the Education Foundation does to enhance its schools, and to everyone who has financially supported this organization that supports the Bethel Park School District. Here are the grants that have benefitted our schools: Franklin Fourth Grade Embryology Project – awarded to Fourth Grade Teacher Katherine Meucci. This grant enabled all three Franklin Fourth Grade classes to study the development of chickens by observing them during the hatching process. Lincoln Community Garden – awarded Lincoln Librarian Denice Pazuchanics. This grant helped with purchasing materials to benefit the Lincoln Community Garden, an interactive learning project that provides fresh produce to the SHIM Food Pantry for distribution to the community. Autism Acceptance Literature – awarded to Franklin Special Education Teacher Jessica Mahoney.
