SAMANTHA WOLF WINS THIRD GRADE SPELLING BEE
M
emorial Elementary School Third
Grader Samantha Wolf was the
Winner of the Second Annual
Bethel Park School District Third Grade
Spelling Bee, sponsored by the Rotary Club
of Bethel Park.
This year, 77 third graders participated
in the Bee, which was held in the
Independence Middle School auditorium
in February. The students had several
weeks to prepare for the Bee by practicing
with the study lists provided to them by
the District.
It was obvious the students were wellprepared for the Bee, because it took seven
rounds of spelling to whittle the field down
to the top 25 spellers, who then took a seat
on the IMS stage as Finalists.
Three rounds later, the final two spellers
were standing—Memorial Third Grader
