GOALS MISSION The mission of the Bethel Park School District is to lead an educational partnership with the community, maintaining an environment that challenges all students to reach their potential as lifelong learners and responsible members of society. The Bethel Park School District has established 4 Main Pillars that provide focus and support to our mission. • • • • Universal Design for Learning (UDL) – Providing opportunities and supports for ALL; 21st Century Skills - Focusing on the 4 C’s (Collaboration, Creativity, Critical thinking and Communication); Reflective Teaching Practices - Using data to inform instruction; Safe and Supportive Schools - Making sure all of our environments are safe places to learn and grow. VISION • • For all students to be motivated, contributing members in our school communities and to take advantage of opportunities to be connected in the areas of academics, athletics, the arts and/or special interests. For all students to be aware of their unique learning characteristics and styles and take ownership of their learning. • Establish a district system that fully ensures that all staff members use standards-aligned assessments to monitor student achievement and adjust instructional practices. • Establish a district system that fully ensures that each member of the district community promotes, enhances and sustains a shared vision of positive school climate and ensures family and community support of student participation in the learning process. • Establish a district system that fully ensures barriers to student learning are addressed in order to increase student achievement and graduation rates. • Establish a district system that fully ensures consistent implementation of standards- aligned curricula across all schools for all students. • Establish a district system that fully ensures the consistent implementation of effective instructional practices across all classrooms in each school.
