NAMS STUDENTS WIN FIRST PLACE IN GINGERBREAD CONTEST N eil Armstrong Middle School Functional Skills students are at it again--creating beautiful gingerbread houses for the PPG Place Holiday Display, which earned them First Place in a regional competition! Each year the students enter their gingerbread houses into this contest which is held Downtown in the PPG Place Wintergarden, featuring entries from students from the Pittsburgh area. This year, they were rewarded for their hard work with a First Place ribbon for one of their “Disney Christmas”-themed houses. Both fifth and sixth grade students worked together to create these beautiful structures. By working together to reach a common goal, the students learned skills such as brainstorming, communication, decision making, cooperation and teamwork. Congratulations on a great job!
